Answers to the most common questions when choosing a label by the condition it must resist.
They are two routes to the same decision. Choosing by application starts from the condition the label must resist — high temperature, outdoor, chemicals, cold or tampering — and takes you to the right construction. Choosing by material starts from the substrate (polyester, polypropylene, paper…) and its properties. If you know what the label is up against but not which material to order, start with the application; if you already know the material, go to the materials catalogue. Both routes reach the same solution.
Define three things: the surface it is applied to (metal, plastic, cardboard, wood…), the environment of use (temperature, moisture, chemicals, outdoor or indoor) and the expected duration in that environment. With those three data points we can advise on the right construction — material, adhesive and print ribbon; if you also know your printer, we can close the proposal at the first contact. Tell us about your case and we will recommend the right application.
Almost always. Instead of one label per condition, we select the construction that covers the combination: for example, chemical resistance together with application on a cold, wet surface, or mechanical abrasion combined with prolonged outdoor exposure. We prioritise the critical requirement and validate the whole combination with a sample. Tell us about all the conditions in your process, not just the main one.
Yes. For new applications or critical conditions, it is worth validating with a sample before moving to full production: it confirms adhesion, code readability and resistance in your real environment without committing to a firm order. Tell us about the application and we will prepare the right sample.
