White gloss PET · Hot melt UV1P · High initial tack · High final adhesion · Thermal transfer · Epson ColorWorks inkjet · Food contact (adhesive)

When is this the right material?

Adhesion

When a standard label lifts — quick stick >15 N/inch and adhesion >13 N/inch at 24 h

Outdoor

Exposure to sunlight — the UV1P adhesive has high solar resistance and high cohesion

Food

Food contact — the UV1P adhesive is suitable according to the technical data sheet

Production

Automatic labelling and sheet cutting — 100 g/m² coated paper liner with constant thickness

Always validate adhesion on your actual surface and printing system before starting production.

Why Ref. 862

The adhesion of Ref. 875, in polyester

Ref. 875 is the reference we recommend when the label has to adhere firmly from the first contact. Ref. 862 carries the same adhesive, the permanent hot melt UV1P, on a 50 µm white gloss polyester film with top coating for printing. The adhesive values are the same on both data sheets: quick stick above 15 N/inch, adhesion of more than 10 N/inch at 20 minutes and more than 13 N/inch at 24 hours, and shear of more than 15 hours, measured on stainless steel.

A conventional hot melt gives strong initial grip but loses cohesion with heat and prolonged solar exposure. UV1P keeps the immediate grip of a hot melt and adds high cohesion and high solar resistance.

Between the two references, the choice depends mainly on the film. The 875 is 125 µm matt polypropylene, with a specific coating for Water Inkjet (dye and pigment inks). The 862 is 50 µm gloss polyester, thinner, and is printed by thermal transfer with ribbon and on Epson ColorWorks inkjet printers. The limit is the same for both: service from −20 to +50 °C. The high-adhesion labels page explains when this adhesive pays off and when another one is needed.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Ref. 862 and Ref. 875?

They carry the same adhesive, the permanent UV1P hot melt, with the same adhesion values. What changes is the film: Ref. 862 is 50 µm white gloss polyester, for thermal transfer and Epson ColorWorks inkjet printing; Ref. 875 is 125 µm white matt cast polypropylene with a coating for Water Inkjet.

What adhesive does it carry?

UV1P, a permanent hot melt of 20 g/m² with high initial tack and high final adhesion: quick stick above 15 N per inch, peel adhesion 180° of more than 13 N per inch at 24 hours and shear of more than 15 hours, on stainless steel.

What are the application and service ranges?

It applies between 0 °C and +40 °C and works in service from -20 °C to +50 °C.

What printing system does it work with?

By thermal transfer with ribbon and on Epson ColorWorks inkjet printers. As with any material, it is advisable to validate the specific ribbon or inks with a test before production.

Is it suitable for parts that go through an oven or heat?

No. Service reaches +50 °C. For paint and oven applications there is Ref. 81020, and for higher temperatures, the high-temperature family.

Do you need to validate this material?

Tell us the application surface, your printing system and the conditions of use. We will send you a sample to test adhesion on your actual part.
