Frequently asked questions about industrial labels

Direct answers to the most common questions we get from purchasing, production and engineering teams: lead times, minimum orders, samples, print formats and compatibility with thermal printers.

Orders and lead times

What is the minimum order?+
Depending on the material and the format, the usual minimum order is 1,000 to 5,000 units per reference. For shorter runs we evaluate each case individually; contact us with no obligation.
What is the usual lead time?+
  • Standard labels with stock materials: 10 to 15 calendar days once the PDF design is approved.
  • Labels with special materials: 20 to 30 calendar days.
  • Rush orders on request.
Do you handle rush orders?+
Yes. Ask about availability and rush surcharge. For urgent orders, the fastest way to reach us is by phone or direct email.
Do you keep standard materials in stock?+
Yes. We hold permanent stock of polyester, polypropylene, coated paper and direct thermal in the most common constructions and adhesives.

Samples and validation

Can I get samples before ordering?+
Yes. We can provide blank material samples (unprinted) for adhesion and compatibility tests, and printed samples with test pre-printing for validation.
Do samples cost anything?+
Blank material samples are free for industrial customers. Printed samples carry a minimal preparation cost, which is deducted from the first order.
How do I confirm the material is right for my application?+
The usual process is:
  1. You describe the application to us (surface, environment, temperature, chemicals present).
  2. We send an indicative quote.
  3. If the prices work, we send samples of the most suitable material for your case.
  4. You run tests on your line or in the real environment.
  5. We confirm the optimal construction and close the order.

Printing and formats

What printing formats do you work with?+

We supply labels for the main printing systems. The most suitable technology depends on whether printing happens at the customer's own facilities or whether the order includes industrial pre-printing.

Customer-side printing

  • Thermal transfer (TT) — the most common in industrial labelling. Optimised for resin, wax-resin or wax ribbons.
  • Direct thermal (DT) — no ribbon, for short-life or logistics applications.
  • Colour inkjet — for high-resolution variable colour printing.

Industrial pre-printing

  • Flexography — for large runs with fixed pre-printing.
  • HP Digital — fixed or variable pre-printing, short-to-medium runs with high definition.

Which printer brands are your materials compatible with?+
Our materials are compatible with the main brands of industrial thermal transfer and direct thermal printers: Zebra, Honeywell, SATO, TSC, Toshiba TEC and others. Let us know the exact model if you need specific validation.
Can you supply rolls or sheets? With what core?+
We supply in roll and in sheets for large-format labels. We adapt to each customer's specifications; the most common parameters are configurable:
  • Outer diameter per customer specification
  • Winding direction (face out or face in)
  • Core size (25 mm and 76 mm are the most common, but we work with other diameters as needed)
What file formats do you need for pre-printing?+
  • Preferred: vector PDF with outlines, at true scale.
  • We also accept: AI, EPS and high-resolution image files (minimum 300 DPI).
  • If you don't have artwork, that's not a problem: we accept sketches or hand drawings and take care of digitising them.
  • We provide die-cutting templates if you need them.

Technical and materials

What is the difference between a polyester and a polypropylene label?+

Polyester is more resistant to temperature and chemicals; polypropylene is more flexible and economical. The choice depends on the environment and the application.

Do they work on low-energy surfaces such as PE or PP?+
Yes, we have special adhesives formulated for low surface-energy substrates such as polyethylene or polypropylene. This needs to be specified when requesting a quote, as the standard adhesive does not bond correctly to these substrates.
Can you make tamper-evident (VOID) labels?+
Yes. We have VOID, destructible and holographic materials for applications where detecting tampering or opening is critical.

Do you supply labels for very high temperatures, such as those that go through paint ovens?+
Yes. We have specific materials depending on the temperature range:
  • Up to +200 °C: high-temperature polyester with adhesive (Ref. 820).
  • Up to +300 °C: self-adhesive polyimide (Kapton®-type).
  • From +200 to +500 °C: adhesive-free ARGIPRINT° tags: KPK laminates up to 350 °C and HOT 150/151 polyimide film up to 450–500 °C.
