Ref. 613
Matt silver metallised PET film, 44 µm, with permanent S697 acrylic adhesive and FSC-certified BG50WH release liner. The only material in the catalogue that combines a metallic finish with an accredited forest chain-of-custody release liner — useful when the customer or the specification requires FSC in the labelling.
FSC · Matt silver metallised · S697 · Tack 14.5 N · -40 / +90 °C
When is this material right for you?
The label needs a matt silver metallic finish for consumer product, cosmetics, electronics or premium packaging
The customer or the specification requires an FSC-certified release liner in the labelling supply chain
The bonding surface is rigid plastic, smooth metal or cardboard under standard warehouse or final-product conditions
The process and environment temperature range does not exceed +90 °C or drop below -40 °C
If the process involves temperatures above +90 °C, there are PET constructions with adhesives that have a wider temperature range. Consult us before finalising the specification.
How to choose well
This material versus other metallised PET options
The FSC certification of the BG50WH release liner is the main differentiator of this construction compared with other matt silver PET films on the market. If the project does not require FSC, there are metallised PET constructions similar in finish and adhesion at a lower cost; but if the customer needs to demonstrate the chain of custody of the labelling material in their sustainability audits, this is the right material.
The S697 adhesive, with a tack of 14.5 N/inch, gives good initial adhesion on most smooth surfaces. It is permanent: once applied, the label does not lift under normal conditions of use. It shows good adhesion on rigid plastic, smooth metal and cardboard. For textured, rough or lubricant-contaminated surfaces, it is advisable to verify compatibility with a prior adhesion test.
The -40 / +90 °C range covers warehouse, logistics and standard final-product use. This is not a high-temperature material: if the process involves prolonged exposure above +90 °C, there are more suitable PET constructions with adhesives that have a wider temperature range. The matt silver finish is compatible with TTR printing (resin or wax-resin ribbon).
Before specifying
FSC certification
Check whether the project's chain of custody requires FSC before substituting an uncertified metallised PET construction.
Temperature limit
+90 °C maximum
For oven, vulcanising or curing processes, ask about high-temperature materials.
Bonding surface
Verify adhesion on rough, textured or lubricant-contaminated substrates before starting production.
