Ref. 791

A white polypropylene film designed for one of the most demanding applications: adhesion on tyres. The synthetic rubber hotmelt adhesive has a very high tack — 45 N loop tack — to bond to rough rubber from first contact. A practical alternative to barrier foil when outdoor durability is required.

Loop tack 45 N — bonds to rough rubber

The synthetic rubber adhesive is formulated to bond to tyres and rough surfaces where standard adhesives fall short.

No automatic dispensing

The high adhesive coat weight (50 ±5 g/m²) requires low cutting and rewinding speeds. Forcing the speed can cause the adhesive to bleed.

Multi-system printing

Compatible with thermal transfer, UV, solvent and water-based inks. If you need a compatible ribbon, ask us — we also supply it.

Alternative to barrier foil outdoors

Offers outdoor durability without resorting to more complex constructions. Shelf life 12 months at 20 °C / 50% RH.

High adhesive coat weight (50 ±5 g/m²): requires low speeds and controlled tension. Always validate under the real conditions of your process before starting production.

Why this material

Why high loop tack is the decisive criterion for tyre labels

The problem with standard adhesives

Tyre rubber is rough, flexible and sometimes carries traces of talc dust on the surface. A standard acrylic adhesive doesn't fill the rubber's pores quickly enough, and the label ends up peeling off during handling or transport. Synthetic rubber has the viscosity and flow needed to make good immediate contact.

Processing: going slow is the key

The high adhesive coat weight (50 g/m²) is what generates such high tack, but it's also what forces you to work with low cutting and rewinding speeds and controlled tension. Forcing the speed can cause the adhesive to bleed sideways. Not suitable for standard automatic dispensing. Always validate the processing conditions before starting production.

The values shown are typical manufacturer data. Verify under the real conditions of your process.

Key advantage

Loop Tack 45 N

45 N of loop tack on rough rubber is the figure that sets this material apart from a standard adhesive. A conventional acrylic adhesive won't bond to tyre rubber — this one bonds from first contact and doesn't come away even where the surface is irregular.

Combined with a peel of 23 N/25mm, it delivers permanent adhesion that withstands handling, transport and warehouse conditions.

Loop Tack (FTM9)

45 ±5 N/25mm

Initial grip on rough rubber. The figure that sets this adhesive apart from standard ones — 45 N is enough to stop it lifting during tyre handling.

Peel (AFERA 5001)

23 ±2 N/25mm

180° peel force. Permanent adhesion — the label doesn't come away on its own once applied. Combined with the loop tack, it gives very robust adhesion.

Adhesive coat weight

50 ±5 g/m²

A high coat weight, necessary for this level of tack. It means processing slowly: cutting and rewinding at low speeds, controlled tension. Not suitable for standard automatic dispensing.

Performance by use criteria

Excellent

Adhesion on rough surfaces

Loop tack 45 N and peel 23 N/25mm. Grips tyres and rough rubber where standard adhesives fail or lift during handling.

Excellent

Outdoor durability

A practical alternative to barrier foil when outdoor durability is required. Biaxially oriented PP film with good resistance to exposure.

Limited

Automatic dispensing

The high adhesive coat weight (50 g/m²) isn't compatible with standard automatic dispensing. Requires low cutting and rewinding speeds with controlled tension.

Limited

Long-term colour stability

Over time and with exposure, slight yellowing of the film may appear. Worth noting if long-term appearance is a priority requirement.

White PP ERODA5E — Face filmOpaque white polypropylene film with a print coating. 60 µm / 45 g/m². Gloss finish. The side that is printed and stays visible.
02
Synthetic Rubber Hotmelt Adhesive — bonding layerThe element that bonds the label to the tyre. Synthetic rubber hotmelt, 50 ±5 g/m². Loop tack 45 ±5 N/25mm, peel 23 ±2 N/25mm. Bonds firmly even on rough surfaces with surface dust or dirt.
03
Glassine Liner — protective linerSuper-calendered glassine, silicone-coated on both sides, 62 ±3 g/m² / 55 µm. Protects the adhesive until the moment of application. Consistent behaviour on automatic labelling lines.

Three layers: white PP film / synthetic rubber hotmelt adhesive / silicone-coated glassine liner. Total thickness: 172 µm ±5.
