Ref. RH9
A white gloss top-coated PP, 127 µm, with a permanent RH9X hotmelt adhesive with high initial tack. RecyClass validation confirms the adhesive's compatibility with the mechanical recycling of PP and HDPE packaging — necessary when the project requires proof of the labelling's recyclability. Applies from 0 °C with no waiting time; service range -40 / +60 °C.
RecyClass validated · FSC Mix Credit · Permanent hotmelt · Tack 17 N/25 mm · Gloss top-coated PP 61 µm · Food and cold applications
When is this the right material?
Labelled packaging enters PP or HDPE recycling streams and the project requires RecyClass validation of the adhesive material
Labelling takes place in cold or humid environments and needs high initial tack from first contact for fast lines with no waiting time
You need a gloss top-coated PP face material with high printability and a quality finish, whether for digital or conventional printing
The label works with frozen products or in the cold chain and must stay in place with no lifting down to -40 °C in service
For thermal transfer, use a wax-resin or resin ribbon. If you're unsure which ribbon to choose for this face material, ask us — we also supply it.
Where this material fits
RecyClass PP hotmelt for food and cold applications
RH9 covers a specific space: food labelling in cold or refrigerated environments where the packaging also needs to be recyclable. RecyClass approval confirms that the construction is compatible with the mechanical recycling of PP and HDPE packaging, which sets it apart from other PP materials in the range that don't have that validation.
The RH9X hotmelt adhesive delivers a tack of 17 N/25 mm: it bonds from first contact, with no need to wait for the adhesive to develop its adhesion. It's useful on fast production lines, on cold or slightly condensed surfaces, and in cold stores where the label needs to fix immediately.
The white gloss top-coated PP face material suits the most common printing systems, both digital and conventional. Thermal transfer uses a wax-resin or resin ribbon. The face material's opacity is 88 %, enough for labels on coloured or dark-backed surfaces. The stored roll's shelf life is 24 months under suitable conditions.
